Report June 2013

This month we published two new translations, improved our website and added another part of our ongoing analysis of a massive collection of texts of the Longchen Nyingtik cycle.

Firstly, due to some auspicious circumstances our laziness was overcome and we managed to complete the Sealed Quintessence (Tikle Gyachen) practice with a translation of the tsok section: Music Sprung from Clouds of Merit: The Concluding Ritual of the Feast Offering for The Sealed Quintessence, the Innermost Secret Guru Practice. Jamyang Khyentse spontaneously composed this feast-offering when he was just sixteen years old. He later revised the text and made it available at the request of some students.

Secondly, after many years we managed to finalize (with much help from several of our gracious scholar and translator friends) our translation of Jigme Lingpa’s Entrusting Activity to the Oath-Bound Dharma Guardians. A well-known text, often referred to as ' tubpé tenpa', for entrusting activity to the Dharma protectors, so that they may ensure the flourishing of the Buddhadharma, especially the Vajrayāna, and protect practitioners from every form of harm.

We added a new page on our website for the innermost secret guru practice of the Sealed Quintessence or Tikle Gyachen. (based on a blog post that we had written last year)

For those who are still not bored with our ongoing analysis of a massive collection of texts of the Longchen Nyingtik cycle, here is part 4 of our investigation: Analysis of a 2020 Edition of the Core Texts (Tsapö) - Part 4: Generation and Perfection. It contains a treasure of commentaries, some of them very rare, on the generation and completion phases

This month was the anniversary of Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö, one of the greatest Tibetan masters of the 20th century and, as one of the Khyentse incarnations, one of the main holders of the Longchen Nyingtik tradition. On that day, our friends and partners at Lotsawa House have completed Phase One of their Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Sungbum Project, and we would like to congratulate them!

Here are two biographies:

Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö

First you followed a supreme Master and obeyed him;
Then you practised, undertaking great hardships;
Finally, your mind and your teacher’s became one, and you inherited the lineage.
Peerless Teacher, at your feet I bow.
